He thoroughly inspected my car to make sure there wasnt anything else wrong. He is honest fair and very reasonable. I would recommend him to anyone that needs their car fixed. Great service, on time

Perfect. Found them from the web. Thought that they would have been a bigger shop but that doesn't matter. The service was excellent, the price was good, and they are good people and especially honest! After finding them I don't plan on going anywhere else!

I came in on a Mon. morning after my muffler fell down off my car on sun. night ,I had never been there before but Paul was polite , took me in and my car and i were on the road an hour and 1/2 later it does not get any better than that .Paul also gave me the cost up front ,and that was just what it was at the end No more No less .. Great Customer Service!!! The employees are very knowledgeable in locating the problems with your car and fixing it at a reasonable and fair price.

My vehicle would not pass inspection due to a bad muffler. I took it to -Paul and asked if he could help and he responded "OF course." A bout an hour later, a cup of coffee, and some great conversation, my problem was solved. A new muffler, great sound and great service, I was on the road again.

The owner was very nice, explained all my options with the total price for each options. The repair was finished in a timely manner with no surprises at check out.

I have been a customer for almost 6 years at National Discount b/c it is by far owned and ran by *honest*, friendly professionals. I believe, the owner Paul, truly cares and takes seriously that the operation of ones car works properly and safely but at the same time doesn't look for a way to rip customers or new comers, off. 

I recently had to have a cat converter replaced among a few other things taken care of. My questions are answered and I always walk out satisfied.

The price was wonderful, way less then I thought it would be . The SUV is running wonderfully now and it didn't take as long as anyone thought to fix. He helped me every step of the way even down to what types of parts would be best within my budget. This is my family mechanic from no on. I was surprised a muffler shop does it all. Also, the bg induction service raised my gas mileage and has my engine running like new.

It wI've learned that most auto repair shops don't really want to work on Prius's. This was not the case at National. I was really impressed with their knowledge and integrity. And not relevant to auto repair but Paul is really smart and knowledgeable about many other things also. He has a good head on his shoulders. We need more people like that in all professions. If you don't believe that quality, honest service and reasonable prices still exist, you haven't been to Nation Discount Muffler. I needed work done for my vehicle and took it to a local shop. I was certain I was being taken for a ride. I looked up reviews and saw 5-stars for National Discount Muffler and Automotive. 

From the moment the moment the call was answered until my car was repaired, they did not disappoint. In fact, they exceeded my expectations in all aspects of service. Paul took the time to explain the work that needed to be performed, he showed me the parts that were failing, and he even recommended online sites to get parts to save me money. In fact, my bill was less than the estimated cost. (Who does that anymore?)

Money aside, the quality of the workmanship, the customer service, and the way my car now runs, I cannot recommend National Discount Muffler and Automotive highly enough. I can't believe a place like this still exists. You can believe the reviews you read. I will take my vehicles here from now on! Best automotive repair I've been to in all my years of owning vehicles!!!

Very competent staff and mechanics. I look for mechanics that are truthful, honest, concerned with customer satisfaction, efficient, thorough and accurate in identifying a problem and solutions to fix it. New Bern's location seems to be good at all these areas. Time will prove me right or wrong in my evaluation. I currently would recommend them highly. If my opinion changes in the future, I will post an updated review.

Natl Discount is truly a fantastic place to do business with. Paul and his crew are always honest with you and do not try to BS anybody. I have been doing business with them now for about 4 years, and I always leave satisfied, never regretting my decision. A++++ Just picked up my wife's Pacifica from there yesterday, needed an inspection, but my check engine light was on. Natl Discount fixed the check engine light issue ( with a $4 replacement part!!!) and now everything is good to go!

The work always comes within budget and never has a problem. I know I can trust the work and the shop and that means so much. The diagnosis is complete with no add on costs once I get it into the shop. Wouldn't go to anyone else.

I found National Discount Muffler in the phone book after my muffler was hanging, looked like it exploded and separated from the tailpipe completely on my 12 year old Dodge Durango SUV. I drove well past the shop without spotting it and had to turn around, then had to think twice about driving in - its not pretty. But they know what they're doing. First, they had the proper muffler in stock.

And they were able to trim the pipes in front and behind the muffler before welding everything back together. Now a few hundred miles later its all working and sounding great. This is the place to go for mufflers in New Bern.

I found them thorough and quick. Paul, the owner, always made sure I had the best information. Will never take my cat anywhere else.

They actually took me to the vehicle and showed me what I needed and explained why I needed it. No bull, no smoke n mirrors. Their price was fair and they know their stuff!

Actual price exceeded the estimated cost by 50 dollars. Then Paul kept his word and dropped it 20 dollars below what we discussed! That's 70 dollars he marked me down, honestly felt like my business was appreciated.

Made my appointment online which was very convenient and got a response back in a timely fashion. I was in and out in about 45 minutes after having my yearly inspection and front sway bars replaced. Paul and Mike always treat me great and they are very polite, professional and friendly. They are always willing to explain everything that the customer needs to know about their vehicle in easy and understandable terms. I truly appreciate the kind of service I have received in the past five years.

Brought my Nissan Titan to National with the tail pipe separated from the muffler. Paul and his shop worker lifted the car, looked over the whole underside for other problems with me. The diagnosis on my tailpipe/muffler was that both pieces were sound. After trimming the rusted flange of the tailpipe and muffler they just welded them back together. I was in and out in 30 minutes. No trying to up sell me a new muffler, etc. Very honest place to be sure. Refreshing. I'd use them again.

They fixed my problem and brought to my attention others. They not only told me about them but showed me! I loved that! The prices were great too!
